IVF Journey Is On

It has been almost 2 years since we landed here in Canada. We have been through a lot before we were booked with a private infertility clinic here in New Brunswick.

Finally, this year, after going through so many doctors, tests, procedures and medicines, a concrete IVF Calendar were given to us on my first day of cycle on 31 January 2018 and we couldn't be happier and excited for this little baby step that we have achieved so far for Little R. I am not, however, sharing the calendar here, not yet, for privacy reasons.

Adding to the excitement above is a "MOCK" embryo transfer last 19 January 2018 as scheduled last year. The mock went well. My OB now knows where to put the embryo on the day of our actual transfer in March. I'm so use to the below machine but I was in tear after my mock especially when the nurse says "we took a picture of the right spot where we will put your "embryo" or... the "baby"."

Like, for real. We never have any pregnancy before and just thinking our egg and sperm cells meet (in an unusual way) for the first time adds up to another baby step in our infertility journey. If you were on our shoes, you will understand the reaction.

On same day, my OB also did a TVU to check on my ovaries and lining. My OB says I need to practice sleeping on my left side especially when we do our injections. In that way, my OB can retrieve eggs on my right ovary. According to my OB, my ovary is too far than normal for retrieval. If my right ovary do not fall on the right path, then we do not have a choice but retrieve only on the left. Of course, we do not want that. We needed all our eggs. Thus, since 19 of January, my DH and I exchange places on our bed and slept most of the time on my left side.

Going back to the first day of my cycle, 31 January 2018, my OB instructed me to start my birth control pill (BCP) on day 7 of my cycle, 6 February 2018, for ** days. I can't wait for all these pills to be over so we can go on to the next steps.

For now, my DH and I do exercises on weekdays and I allow him to do basketball on Sundays just for a good circulation of our blood streams. We did a full body massage last 27 January 2018 and we are doing it again this month. We always eat avocado and grapes, our fertility fruits, everyday which according to research helps in conception. Most importantly, I took a break on my social media accounts: Facebook, Messenger and WhatsApp.

Yeah, we did all the above, especially me on hiatus with my Facebook is a big move. We needed everything to make our first IVF successful through God's grace. We have waited for this moment. We moved from one country to another just to achieve our ultimate dream of becoming parents.

We know through God's grace and right timing, we will hold our little R on our arms very soon. Father God, please be with us and guide us in our IVF journey. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
